“Long Road Back”, the latest offering from the Todd Wolfe Band and follow up to their very successful 2013 release, “Miles To Go”, reflects the band’s continuous touring from coast to coast, to across the Atlantic to the Far East!
Todd with his bandmates, Roger Voss (drums & backing vocals), Justine Gardner (bass & backing vocals) and the return of Hammond Organ wizard, John Ginty, on this latest album, cross musical boundaries of roots, rock, blues and jam music more reminiscent of seventies bands but this album is not revivalist, the music is new and now! Long Road Back is mostly originals penned by the band that range from cool grooves, to an instrumental swampy-jam, to all-out rockers and the acoustic anthem “Peace Unto you” perfect for Indie B radio. Todd and band offer an interesting slant on two old chestnuts, one being the Stephen Stills classic, “Black Queen” giving it a heavy-jammy psychedelic feel. The other cover, a very different take on Cream’s “Outside Woman Blues” using acoustic guitar and percussion with an almost hip-hop feel that can be played in any musical radio format … Get your copy soon!
